FAQs

Are your candles eco-friendly?

Our candles are crafted with the environment in mind. We take pride in using 100% natural soy wax as the base for our candles. Soy wax is a renewable resource, derived from soybeans, making it a sustainable and eco-friendly choice.

In addition to being made from natural soy wax, our candles are enhanced with natural performance additives. One of the key eco-friendly features of our candles is their biodegradability. Unlike some traditional paraffin-based candles that may linger in landfills, our soy wax candles break down naturally over time, leaving minimal impact on the environment.

Furthermore, our commitment to sustainability extends to our candles being vegan.

So, when you choose our candles, you're not only indulging in a delightful aromatic experience but also making a conscious choice for the planet. It's our way of providing you with a guilt-free and environmentally responsible way to enjoy the warm glow and captivating scents of our candles.

How can I reuse/ repurpose my candle jars?

All of our jars can be reused and repurposed.

Once your candle is finished burning, leave your candle out in the sun for some time until the wax softens.

Then take a spoon and scoop out the excessive wax and wick. You can use the leftover wax as wax melts.

Once the wax and wick has been scooped, give the vessel a wash with some soap and warm water to clean it up.

You can also peel off the label and repurpose it anyway - storage, new pot plant or mini vase.

How do I dispose of the packaging?

The box you receive your package is eco friendly and can be disposed of in the recycle bin.

The tissue paper and packing peanuts your package arrives in are all biodegradable and compostable.

The greeting cards are made from 100% recycled paper.

Our potlis can also be repurposed.

How do I care for my candle?

First burn: It’s important to set the pattern of burn for your candle in the first burn.

For the first burn, let your candle burn long enough for the wax to have melted right to the edge of the candle. This can take from 2-3 hours, depending on the size or candle. We know it’s a long time, but it’s worth the wait.

Once the memory has been set, you’re ready to go. Every burn after this will be smooth and your candle will burn for so much longer.

Wick Trim: To ensure a safe and clean burn, always trim your wick to 3mm-5mm before each use. You can use your fingers to snap it off (once cooled), a wick trimmer or a pair of scissors.

What do I do if my wood wick keeps flaming out?

If your wick is not staying lit , it might indicate that it's either too long or too short.

To achieve an optimal burn, consider trimming the wick.

This can be easily done by using your fingers to snap it off (once cooled), a wick trimmer or a pair of scissors. To ensure a safe and clean burn, regularly  trim your wick to 3mm-5mm.

What do I do if my candle tunnels? How do I avoid this?

Tunnelling occurs when a candle burns down the centre, leaving wax along the edges untouched.

The leftover wax along the edges means your candle won’t achieve its maximum burn potential. This won't help you achieve a safe and healthy burn. Please ensure you let your first burn until the entire top layer is melted to the edge. Ensure this is also achieved for every burn after. This way you candle will cool and set evenly every time with no tunnelling.

We never want that to happen, so please ensure you are burning your candle until the entire top layer is liquid wax. This way it will set evenly with no tunnelling.

If your candle has tunnelled you can easily fix this by wrapping sides and top of the candle in aluminium foil. Make a hole at the top to light the wick and let your candle burn until the leftover wax has melted down.

What is the perspiration on my candle? What should I do?

Perspiration or sweating is when the wax surface develops small, bead-like droplets. This is a natural phenomenon caused by temperature and humidity changes, and it doesn't affect the candle's performance.

Sweating is not a sign of a defective candle, but is simply a reaction to environmental conditions. Simply move your candle to a cooler, drier location.
